AI Sanitizer Public - Quick User Guide

1. Installation

Step 1: Install the application.
- Go to the respective store for your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, FireFox), and then install the extension per the standard procedure.

2. Getting Started

Automatic Activation
- The extension activates automatically on supported AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and sanitizes sensitive input (e.g., IP addresses, SSNs) in real-time.
First Use
- Type or paste text (e.g., 192.168.1.1) into an AI chat input field. The extension will replace it with $ip$ before submission.

3. Configuring the Extension

Access Options
- Click the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and select "Options" or visit chrome://extensions/ and click "Options" under AI Sanitizer Public.
Customize Rules
- Add or edit sanitization rules (e.g., regex patterns for credit card numbers) and assign tokens (e.g., $visa$).
- Enable or disable the extension using the toggle switch.
Save Changes
- Click "Save" to apply your settings. Changes take effect immediately on supported platforms.

4. Using the Extension

Supported Platforms
- Works on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, GitHub Copilot, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.
Verification
- Check the input field to confirm sanitized output (e.g., $email$ instead of user@example.com).
Typing or Pasting
- Enter sensitive data (e.g., 123-45-6789) into an AI chat field. The extension will replace it with $ssn$ as you type or after pasting.

5. Troubleshooting and Support

Common Issues
- If sanitization doesn’t work, ensure the extension is enabled and the website is supported.
- Reload the page or reinstall the extension if needed.
