Privacy Policy for AI Sanitizer Public Extension
Last Updated: March 9, 2025
The AI Sanitizer Public extension ("the Extension") is designed to enhance your privacy and security by sanitizing sensitive information (e.g., IP addresses, Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, emails) entered into supported AI chat interfaces (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) before submission. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection and Use:
- The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user data to third parties.
- It processes input data locally within your browser to replace sensitive information with tokens (e.g., $ip$, $ssn$) and does not retain this data after sanitization.
- No personally identifiable information, health information, financial data, authentication details, communications, location data, web history, user activity, or website content is collected or shared.
Permissions:
- The Extension uses the 'storage' permission to save user preferences (e.g., sanitization rules, enabled/disabled state) locally in your browser.
- Host permissions (e.g., https://chat.openai.com/*) are used to inject the content script into specific AI interfaces, limited to its single purpose.
Third-Party Sharing:
- We do not sell, transfer, or use user data for purposes unrelated to the Extension's function or for creditworthiness/lending purposes.
Changes to This Policy:
- We may update this policy to reflect changes in functionality. Updates will be posted here.
